About This Spot

Stepping into Yuktongryeong Myeongdong Main, you immediately sense a welcoming hum that balances the vibrant energy of Seoul’s bustling Jung District with a warm, unpretentious spirit. The pace here is lively but never rushed—inviting diners to settle in as the subtle scent of charcoal smoke begins to weave through the air. It’s a place where the ritual of Korean barbecue unfolds naturally, inviting connection over sizzling plates and shared moments.

The atmosphere carries a comforting familiarity. Staff members gracefully take charge of the grill, offering a reassuring rhythm to the experience that lets you fully enjoy each bite without distraction. There’s a thoughtful attentiveness in how the meal is served, from the fresh green onion vinaigrette to the side dishes—small but meaningful details that turn a meal into a memorable gathering.

As the charcoal fire brings the richly marbled pork belly to life, its smoky aroma fills the table, drawing you into the simple pleasure of finely aged meat, expertly grilled to juicy perfection. This slow unfolding of flavors is matched by the subtle crunch of crisp lettuce and the gentle tang of pickled vegetables, each component complementing the other with quiet harmony. The depth of the kitchen’s care becomes clear in the stews and broths that follow, warming the meal with a soulful richness that lingers comfortably.

Despite its central location and the steady flow of guests, Yuktongryeong holds an intimate vibe—a spot where strangers at neighboring tables are quietly bound by the shared joy of food and conviviality. While the rhythm of service hums along swiftly, there’s room to breathe and savor the moment amidst the surroundings of Myeongdong's energetic streets.

For those looking to explore Korean barbecue beyond just the flames and meat, this is a place that quietly invites discovery—through every carefully tended dish and every human detail set against the city’s vibrant heartbeat.

Food and service was great! It awesome that someone will take care of your grill and grill it to perfection. It came with a bowl of salad and a bowl of green onion vinaigrette and a few dipping sauces. The style of eating was different; I kind of prefer to get lettuce to wrap my meat. Overall it was fun and great food. It was easy to order as they use a tablet that handles multiple languages (english, Japanese and Chinese).

Quick service and they cook for you. Great location near hotels. You need to remind staff of some orders specially drinks since they forget. We were a group of six and given two tables 2pax and 4 pax. In the 4 pax table only one set of sauces. Better if they have sauces per pax for sanitary reasons.

One of the best pork belly places I’ve tried in Seoul! The pork is thick, juicy, perfectly aged, and grilled over real charcoal, so every bite has a deep smoky flavor. Staff grill the meat for you, which makes the whole experience super comfortable. Side dishes like green onion salad, pickled veggies, and salted fish pair amazingly well. Their soybean stew (Doenjang-jjigae) is also a must-try — rich, savory, and generous in portion. Great location near Myeongdong Station, clean interior, and very friendly service. Absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Food was pretty good! The spot can get a bit busy, so do not hesitate to remind staff of the additional items you ordered (e.g., rice). The kimchi here taste particularly good - more on the savoury side! Staff were pretty friendly and accomodating as well (minus 1, see below). Worth a try, the vibes here are A+ aslo, the chicken was well cooked and the cheese was suuuper stringy! There was one older lady who gave me some karen vibes (slightly). Not her fault entirely, but was very confused if ahe was talkong to me or the group behind me - the tone in her response wasn't exactly reassuring. (Also not sure why the group behind me followed me so closely, Idk you m8 LOL)....3.5/5 based on this

Super fast service. Noodles were a bit soggy, but broth flavor was amazing. Dumplings were also tasty! I would definitely come back. Lines can be super long, but with the fast service, most people are in and out!
